Finger Jointing Process

Shreeji introduces the new technology to solve this purpose of finger joining. The finger joining process approved to be the most stable method of timber longitudinal joints. We are expert in finger joining technology aims at highest precision. This means lowest dimensional allowances, timber losses and overheads with highest technical availability. It is well accepted international technology since long time.

Finger jointing is the process to join many pieces of wood in order to form one stronger piece. This joining adds much strength; better surface looking, cheaper and more efficient piece of wood. It turns the wood waste into valuable reclamation. The finger joining process involves the joining of short lennth, and then is machined to

The timber from the plantations and that imported from other countries is harvested at short rotation. The timbers obtained from short rotation trees contain many natural defects like, juvenile wood, knots, cracks and splits, etc. In addition, it is also liable to deformation like warping or twisting or loosening of joints on drying and during service. Therefore, efficient utilization of plantation timbers whether imported or indigenously produced has opened up many new options for the development and manufacture of different types of engineered (or reconstituted) wood products for specialized applications. Such engineered wood products include plywood, block board and other panel products.

A new entrant to the engineered wood products (panel) industry is commonly known as finger jointed edge glued panel (FJEGP) or simply solid wood panel board. FJEGP's are boards made from seasoned and chemically treated solid wood by arranging small rectangular defect-free pieces of solid wood of uniform thickness and width lengthened by finger jointing and jointed width wise by edge gluing with the application of a suitable glue and pressure in a board making press.

FJEGP's are the best solution and substitute for solid wood panels for use in a variety of end products, like doors, windows and furniture etc. due to easy workability, excellent dimensional stability, elegant finish adaptability, long service life, very good strength properties and aesthetic appearance.
